The North Glengarry Township passed a resolution concerning Township land on both sides of the Garry River near Lakeshore Road in the Garry Fen region. The results will provide further protection for wildlife habitat there. We are grateful for recognizing the value of the trails and the Friends of Glengarry Trails Association through the Township’s response to our concerns.
Private landowners have generously allowed these recreational trails to exist on their property. The FGTA is aware of its responsibility to the landowners and those using the trails. Volunteers work hundreds of hours yearly to ensure the trails are safe and passable. Many trails are groomed during winter as the trails welcome cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and dog walkers -popular activities.
An essential note: Please stay on the trails for your safety and well-being.
