Glengarry Trails News March 2017

Friends of Glengarry Trails Annual General Meeting 2017 will take place on Thursday March 23 at 7 pm at the Georgian House Restaurant; 148 Main Street in Alexandria Ontario.

Learn the latest about the trails, plans, events. There will also be two presentations:

1. Tamara VanDyk of the Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary will introduce Sharing Nature Network, an initiative to promote  ecotourism and enjoyment of nature in the region.

2. Matthew Levac and friend, Rachel, will share photos and stories of their experiences walking the Long Traverse Trail in Grosse Morne National Park.

Member support is highly valued and necessary for the continued operation of the trails. Guests are welcome to this event. Please encourage friends, neighbours and others to take part – by becoming members, making donations, joining committees and/or the board - in keeping these wonderful trails a vibrant attraction in our community.

More Spring Events

Fun Fandango April 1st at the Georgian House - Join us for a fabulous evening of delicious full course meal from Chef Heinz, and live music from the TrevorClefs, a stellar jazz combo.  Add to that a 50/50 draw, and knowing you are contributing to the development and maintenance of our beautiful trail system.  Ticket are $45. each.  For FGTA members, pay just $40.  Sign up for a membership here (just $20 or $30 for family)

March 9th Trail Conditions: Currently trails are wet and icy in spots.  The cross-country skiing was terrific for some time in February thanks to the grooming work of Heinz and his team.
